How to Postpone Your Wedding

JasmineCreative (78 of 95).jpg

COVID-19 has thrown an unexpected curve in the event industry. So, what happens if you need to postpone your wedding? Here are the steps to postponing your wedding.

  1. If you have a planner, reach out to them first and have them coordinate all communication, this will make your life so much easier. If not, reach out to your venue first. Ask what their policy is, what your new date options are and how far in advance you need to confirm a new booking date. It is important to note that this is uncharted territory for everyone and as such, policies will likely change to suit the situation. We typically like to place a soft hold on a new date with a cut off time to make the final decision.

  2. Reach out to your VIP vendors once you’ve chatted with your venue with new date options. Photographer, videographer, florist, rentals, hotel blocks and additional vendors to follow. I suggest using an excel form and have each vendor fill out their availability based on the dates you provide them.

  3. Once you have decided on a new date, ask each vendor for a new contract with a COVID-19 clause. This is VERY important. In addition, make sure you get counter signed agreements from each vendor accordingly.

  4. Send out an email to all of your guests notifying them of changes. If they have already RSVP’s keep their meal selections in an active excel document so that you do not need to chase them later on.

  5. Breathe! It may not be the wedding you initially planned, but think about how excited everyone is going to be when we can all celebrate together. It will be SO worth the wait.

if you’re feeling overwhelmed and not sure how to navigate moving an entire wedding into a new date, we’re here to help! Send us an email and we’d be happy to help you navigate this stressful time.

An Intimate Elopement in THE DISTILLERY DISTRICT

When I first met with Kristen and Justin, they wanted to have an intimate celebration. We talked through a variety of options, and in the end, they decided to elope in here Toronto! We selected the venue, accommodation, florist, photographer and the whole team to create an intimate 3 day experience for K+J. The ceremony was something I will never forget. It was just the two of them, the officiant, myself and the photographer. K+J took their time and truly savoured that special moment. Enjoy a glimpse into their special day!

A Romantic NYE Wedding

I had the immense pleasure of working with the two most amazing people to plan a one of a kind celebration. What better way to ring in the new year than with a celebration of love! Jenna + Sarangan rang in the new year with 260 of their favourite humans and threw quite the party.

We designed this wedding to reflect the style of wedding J+S wanted to have, a party to remember! Simplistic decor elements featuring the stunning FC crystal chandeliers, hanging greenery installations and lots of candles created a romantic atmosphere.

The ceremony started at 8:00PM followed by a cocktail reception. Guests had the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of food and specialtly cocktails before The St. Royals took the party to the next level. As midnight approached, our team handed out a variety of NYE hats, necklaces, glasses you name it, we had it! The clock struck midnight and the entire crowd went wild, it was electric.

Chantelle & Jacob's Romantic Estate Wedding

Oh my heart, this wedding is one that I will forever cherish.
It's not everyday that you meet people like Chantelle and Jacob. Loving, compassionate, kind and all kinds of wonderful. When I met with them to begin planning their wedding, I knew it was going to be an extra special occasion. Why? Because they desired to celebrate their love first and foremost and the details would follow.

They chose to have an intimate wedding of 110 guests on a family property in Chatsworth, ON. A beautiful fall wedding would highlight the natural beauty of the property as the tress would be changing colour and the sun would set beautifully across the harvested grounds.

Every detail was thoughtfully planned to be unique and memorable to C&J.  Intentional simplicity was key into designing their day. The reception featured the BEST grand entrances, heartwarming speeches, a surprise gift for Jaxson, a musical performance by the father of the bride, dancing and fireworks. The atmosphere was electric.

My favourite part of all their personal touches was the ceremony. They had their closest friend of 15 + years marry them. It was full of humour and raw emotion as C&J declared their personal vows to each other and their son, Jaxson. There wasn’t a dry eye in site..including mine!

A Surprise Proposal

I love a good surprise, don't you?! My dear friend Lydia asked if I would like to be involved in a very unique event, a surprise proposal! Naturally, I was over the moon to design and be apart of this special moment. The idea was to plan a mock shoot at the place where Shane and Sarah had originally met, the beautiful pine forrest in Guelph, ON.  Sarah and Shane agreed to be our models and the plan was set in motion! As you will see from the photos, Sarah was completely surprised and said "YES" to marrying the love of her life.
Congrats Sarah & Shane!

Chris & Sarah Mad in Love

When I first met with Chris and Sarah, they had a venue booked, a custom top hat on the way and a dream of throwing an Alice in Wonderland inspired wedding with a mad hatter twist. C&S wanted more than your typical wedding, they wanted a celebration of love and an experience for their guests. The journey of planning, designing and crafting a concept into a real life wonderland lasted 14 months.

As I watched their first look, I couldn't help but shed a few tears of happiness. Two individuals head over heels in love and fully living in the moment on their wedding day, I'm not sure there is anything better than that.

A HUGE shout out to the amazing team of vendors who brought various parts of the vision to life

Adam & Meghan

I had the pleasure of designing and coordinating Adam & Meghan's chic wedding at The Berkeley Church this past July. We began with white on white as our base and added a few pops of colour along the way. The champagne tower kicked off the reception followed by heartwarming speeches, dinner, a killer playlist and lots of dancing.

Boho Bride

I had the pleasure of collaborating with fellow creatives up by my hometown in Grey Bruce, ON.
It is always an adventure shooting up north, mainly because of the abundance of hidden spots.
You really have to be a local to find them! Luckily, our talented photographer Alli Ladd, knows the area like the back of her hand. She guided us through bushes, hidden trails and beaches for the ultimate shoot locations to breathe our design to life.
