Love in the Time of Covid

With this year taking us for a spin, to say the least, this wedding season was unlike any other. How many emails did you get with, “In these unprecedented times…” and keywords like “pivot” and “reevaluate” - it was hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

But, #LoveIsntCancelled!

When the province got the thumbs up for larger gatherings, we were lucky enough to work with incredible couples and vendors to execute beautiful, intimate ceremonies. Masked, gloved, and sanitized, we worked tirelessly to create their special day that they’ll treasure forever. Though small, love was still showcased in the biggest way. It was so amazing to finally be able to see our couples celebrate their love. Surrounded by those closest to you, it’s easy to feel the romance and allow yourself to be more present.

Pandemic or not, small intimate weddings and elopements are beautiful - they hold a special place in our hearts here at All That Jaz. We love to collaborate and design the perfect romantic day. Having a chance to focus on this style of wedding was a bright spot for us in these unprecedented times. We’re here for you, however you want to celebrate (safely, of course!)

How to Postpone Your Wedding

COVID-19 has thrown an unexpected curve in the event industry. So, what happens if you need to postpone your wedding? Here are the steps to postponing your wedding.

  1. If you have a planner, reach out to them first and have them coordinate all communication, this will make your life so much easier. If not, reach out to your venue first. Ask what their policy is, what your new date options are and how far in advance you need to confirm a new booking date. It is important to note that this is uncharted territory for everyone and as such, policies will likely change to suit the situation. We typically like to place a soft hold on a new date with a cut off time to make the final decision.

  2. Reach out to your VIP vendors once you’ve chatted with your venue with new date options. Photographer, videographer, florist, rentals, hotel blocks and additional vendors to follow. I suggest using an excel form and have each vendor fill out their availability based on the dates you provide them.

  3. Once you have decided on a new date, ask each vendor for a new contract with a COVID-19 clause. This is VERY important. In addition, make sure you get counter signed agreements from each vendor accordingly.

  4. Send out an email to all of your guests notifying them of changes. If they have already RSVP’s keep their meal selections in an active excel document so that you do not need to chase them later on.

  5. Breathe! It may not be the wedding you initially planned, but think about how excited everyone is going to be when we can all celebrate together. It will be SO worth the wait.

if you’re feeling overwhelmed and not sure how to navigate moving an entire wedding into a new date, we’re here to help! Send us an email and we’d be happy to help you navigate this stressful time.

Jessica + Leigh's Romantic Archeo Wedding

I am so honoured to work with the most amazing clients and forever grateful to those who allow us to be apart of their celebration. J+L’s wedding was one we will remember forever. We planned J+L’s wedding to reflect not only their personal style, but with the intention of creating a warm, relaxed and fun celebration.

Design highlights included live music at the ceremony and in the cocktail courtyard, neutral and lush florals, a breathtaking hanging installation, soft candlelight, crystal stemware, personal notes from the couple at every seat and pops of black accents throughout the space. You walked into the room and could quite literally, feel the warmth and love that filled the air. After a delicious 5 course meal, heartwarming speeches and cake, the dance floor opened with the debut of the brides family performing a traditional square dance! Congrats J+L!

An Intimate Elopement in THE DISTILLERY DISTRICT

When I first met with Kristen and Justin, they wanted to have an intimate celebration. We talked through a variety of options, and in the end, they decided to elope in here Toronto! We selected the venue, accommodation, florist, photographer and the whole team to create an intimate 3 day experience for K+J. The ceremony was something I will never forget. It was just the two of them, the officiant, myself and the photographer. K+J took their time and truly savoured that special moment. Enjoy a glimpse into their special day!

A Surprise Proposal

I love a good surprise, don't you?! My dear friend Lydia asked if I would like to be involved in a very unique event, a surprise proposal! Naturally, I was over the moon to design and be apart of this special moment. The idea was to plan a mock shoot at the place where Shane and Sarah had originally met, the beautiful pine forrest in Guelph, ON.  Sarah and Shane agreed to be our models and the plan was set in motion! As you will see from the photos, Sarah was completely surprised and said "YES" to marrying the love of her life.
Congrats Sarah & Shane!

Ryan & Stefanie's Romantic Distillery Wedding

Intimate, romantic and all things lovely. Ryan and Stefanie's romantic wedding in The Distillery District was nothing short of magic. The ceremony took place at Arta Gallery followed by a champagne toast lead by the best man.  The ceremony decor was simplistic with soft candlelight and two lush floral arrangements. Following the ceremony, guests walked down the cobblestone laneway to Archeo where they would enjoy cocktails and canapés on the patio. Inside Archeo, a breathtaking floral installation was displayed directly above the head table and was the focal point of the room.  Under this installation the bridal party enjoyed dinner and some seriously amazing speeches surrounded by their loved ones. What a celebration it was!
